Prospective StudentsHow to select a driving schoolBased on information from the WA State Department of Licensing, we offer the following suggestions for choosing your driving school:• Ask your friends and their parents for feedback about their experience with the schools in your area. • Ask about the school's lesson plans, and prepared presentation media. • Ask the school’s employees to tell you what makes their course the right one for you. Their answers should emphasize the training and experience of their instructors; the time spent in the classroom; and, the time you will spend actually driving and observing other drivers. • Look at the cost of the course. If there is a significant difference in the price you will pay, ask for an explanation of what your money will buy and compare the programs of the different schools. Keep in mind that this course is an investment not just in your education, but also in their safety, and in the safety of everyone that rides with you in the future. • Visit the school and ask to see the classroom and vehicle being used for training. Does it compare favorably with your own thoughts on the environment you want to be in while learning to drive? • Ask to observe an actual class to get an impression of the instructor’s skills, knowledge and ability. • You may also contact DOL at (360) 902-3900 to confirm the license status of a school or instructor. DOL cannot recommend one school over another but will confirm the authenticity and validity of a school’s or an instructor’s license. For your information, the WA State DOL license numbers for Parkside Driving School are C117 and O86A. |
